As a mom to 3 three and a husband the art of cooking is very important. Yet some how I F*cked that up too!
Growing up we all think our mom's cooking is the best and she could never make a mistake. I don't know about your mom's, but mine was pretty dam good at cooking. Years of experience and learning made my mom a great teacher. I though I had it all under control, but i seem to have proven myself wrong. Here is the account of how i some how set bacon on fire in my microwave.

My husband had come in for lunch as farmer's so often do. He started cooking bacon on the stove top like he always does. However when he "cooks" his bacon, he always leaves it half cooked. As in it's still rubbery and greasy, and I hate that! I always seem to put a few pieces in my microwave for 2 minutes to crisp them up. I didn't do anything different to what i usually do. I put paper towel under the bacon to soak up some of the grease, and then put one piece of paper towel on top. Pressed the start button and then went on to prepare the rest of my BLT. 1 minute later i can hear popping and the smell of smoke coming from the microwave. Opening up the microwave smoke comes out in a great amount, and i can see the top piece of paper towel is dark but nothing black to say it was on fire. However after removing the paper towel i can see the middle of what looked like 1 big strip of bacon, (which was in fact 2 strips) looks like it was set on fire and boiled together. The smell was horrible!! After sending my husband flying down the stairs to turn off the smoke alarm (it is wired into our house), i got my oven mittens on and took whatever that was outside as fast as possible. I have cooked bacon in the microwave many times and NEVER has this ever happened to me. I was so dumb founded about this i couldn't get this out of my head for the rest of the day, nor could i get the smell out of my house!
As mom i should be able to do the simple task of cooking bacon in the microwave, i thought it was very simple. Never did i think i would brake my microwave with bacon. Or that it would smell of smoke every time i used it since this little episode. So today after all the cleaning and making all or one of my kids annoyed, mad, or sad at me I broke and went to buy a new microwave. I still to this day don't know how i did it, but f*ck this girl has some kind of skill!
