Over cleaning or Under cleaning?

You never clean more than in the first 10 minutes before someone comes over.

So most of you know I am traveling to London at the end of April. After all the ticket and hotel booking was done, the luggage was purchased. I bought my train tickets and Doctor who experience tickets, then I went back to everyday life after jumping up and down in my room screaming with happiness. Then it dawned on me how much work I had ahead of me to get the house cleaned up for my parents to come and live here with the kids while we are gone.

Since coming to this realization I have made a metal list of what needs to cleaned before we leave. My house is a organized mess! Some parts of my house look cluttered, i thought i knew where everything was. I have cleaned out my pantry and I discovered how much "crap" was in there. I filled 4 big black garbage bags full just cleaning that out! I then decided okay i am going to clean out all the cupboards in my kitchen. Well holy sh*t! I found some really nasty stuff, and some stuff I didn't even know I had. The big thing I discovered Is the things that I thought I used I don't. Thought I had so much stuff that I didn't know where to put it. My cupboards are now just about empty. I only did 1/4 of my cupboards  so far and already I can see I am going to find things that I never knew I had. It will be interesting.

How clean can you keep it when your toddler is walking behind you undoing everything you just did. Or when your husaband doesn't  know the meaning of fold and put away your clothes. A pile of clothes doesn't work and sniffing it to tell if its clean or not is just gross! Yes that is right I DO NOT do his laundry. Married to a farmer and i don't know his laundry! It's gross but i am not touching that!   I have this horrible feeling in my stomach that if i don't clean my house totally up then my mom will just say no i can't do it sorry. That her baby siting her grand kids hinges on whether or not my house is clean enough for her? I now feel a over whelming urge to go clean some more.

How much do you clean before you leave on a trip? I can't tell if i am over doing it or under doing it? But I Will let nothing come in the way of out London trip!
